Oprah Gives Ex-Stepmom 60 Days To Vacate Nashville Home
The awkward legal war between Oprah Winfrey and her former stepmother, Barbara Winfrey, appears to winding down. In case you’ve been in the dark regarding their family drama, the media mogul’s attorneys have been busy at work for months trying to get Barbara to vacate the $1.4 million home she once shared with ex-husband, Vernon Winfrey. The two divorced late last year.
According to USA Today, Oprah even tried to reason with her father’s ex-wife by offering to move her into another home in Nashville. Barbara, however, refused because the new home would come with a confidentiality agreement that prohibits her from speaking publicly about her media mogul stepdaughter.
On Monday in court, General Sessions Court Judge Ernie Williams recommended that the OWN visionary grant Barbara an additonal two months before evicting her from the home.
“The court is certainly aware of your situation,” he told Barbara. “I’m trying to do what I can for you, OK?”
Oprah agreed to follow the judge’s recommendation, but it’s clear that she definitely wants her former stepmom out.
