Yesterday we told you that a warrant was issued for the arrest of “Scandal” actor Columbus Short following a bloody bar fight that he was allegedly involved in over the weekend. Today it’s being reported that the 33-year-old father has turned himself in to the Claremont Police Department in relation to the warrant.
According to E! News, Columbus turned himself in today and has been officially charged with one count of felony battery with serious bodily injury stemming from the bar fight. He has since been released on bond, which as previously reported, was set at $50,000. While it was originally reported that the incident happen during an engagement party at Gabe’s Bar & Grill in Los Angeles, a spokesperson from the venue later released a statement clarifying that the altercation actually occurred outside of the restaurant, adding that employees didn’t actually see what happened.
“It happened out in the back, in the parking lot, so [no] one who works here saw anything,” said the rep.
Interestingly, talk of the arrest warrant also brought up discussion of an alleged domestic violence incident, which resulted in the arrest of the choreographer-turned-actor a few weeks ago. According to reports, the police were called to Columbus’ home after he allegedly attacked his wife, Tanee McCall-Short, during an argument. There is also a second alleged domestic violence incident that is said to have occured between the couple two weeks later. It’s still unclear what their arguments were about, but whatever it was, the two appear to have reconciled. Footage recently captured by TMZ shows the couple with their 2-year-old daughter during a family outing.
