Anita Baker Responds To Arrest Warrant Reports
Earlier today we told you about a bench warrant that has been issued by a Detroit judge for the arrest of 80s singer Anita Baker. According to the warrant, the 56-year-old singer is at odds with the courts behind a lawsuit, which was filed against her by paint and decor company Ray Smith Painting. Apparently, the company was hired to do a paint job on Anita’s home, but when the time came to pay up, she skipped out on her $15,000 tab. As a result, he took the “Sweet Love” singer to court. Well, he tried to at least.
According to reports, Anita never showed up to court to explain why she failed to pay the company for the work done on her home. As a result, a judge has issued a warrant for her arrest. Following the reports Anita took to Twitter to respond to the news.
“WHATTT??!!… sittin’ in the kitchen watching this on TV,” she tweeted. “BIG time crazy. Atty [attorney] on his way to TV Station. Devil sho is busy.”
She later followed up with another statement thanking fans for their support.
“As I slumbered & slept, he kept me safe from all hurt harm or danger… His Plan is Greater than man’s plan 🙂 Cup OVERFLOWS w Gratitude!”
“THANK YOU, for ALL the LOVE & LIGHT u’ve sent my way. All is well 🙂 Light is Dim… But SHINING ANYway! Grateful 4 every lesson, ab”
Hopefully she gets this matter squared away soon. We’d hate to hear about her being arrested.
