‘I Could Literally Smoke Cr*ck In The Studio:’ Wendy Williams Opens Up About Past Drug Addiction
Wendy Williams has never been afraid to discuss her past addiction to coke. During her recent appearance on Centric’s “Being,” the daytime TV host opened up about some of her past demons including her addiction and how she eventually kicked the habit.
“I’ve stooped to smoking crack. I could literally smoke my crack right there in the studio,” she boldly confessed while discussing indulging in substances during her early radio days.
Wendy surprisingly went on to express that she “loved” her habit at the time.
“I had the money and the access and the time to do it. I absolutely loved it and there was never a time when I said I can’t do this anymore. I was able to pay my bills. I was able to live a nice life.”
However, as with most drug addictions, Wendy eventually hit rock bottom.
“I knew they knew, but no one knew how to say anything to me,” Wendy shared while recalling her parents inability to cope with her addiction.
The media maven went on to express that she kicked her addiction only after she was ready.
“I quit because it was time,” Wendy explained. “It doesn’t work until the person who’s on the drug wants to quit. Interventions only drive them away from wanting to be around you.”
