“NeNe, I Wish You Well, But You All Aren’t Going To Win”: Wendy Williams On NeNe Joining “DWTS”
Earlier this week it was confirmed that NeNe Leakes would be joining the cast of season 18 of Dancing With The Stars alongside Tony Dovolani. Speaking about her chances, Leakes told the folks at Extra that she shook a leg while she was a stripper, so she has some tricks in her bag that could work in her favor against the folks she will go up against, including Olympic gold medalists:
“Congrats on winning the Olympics, but it’s ballroom dancing. That’s a whole ‘nother thing. I’m sure they’re going to have a lot of great techniques. Of course, they won the Olympics. This other guy is a hockey player, and they have great endurance because they’ve been doing it for a long time, much longer than I have. But we have some things that we can bring that they can’t.”
Someone who knows what Leakes is about to go through, specifically because she was paired with Dovolani as well, is Wendy Williams. During her show this week, she said that Leakes has her work cut out for her, and that while Dovolani is a hard worker and great dancer, Leakes will not win. Here’s why:
“As predicted, NeNe Leakes is part of the cast. As I predicted, Tony Dovolani–my former partner–will be NeNe’s partner because he always gets the big ones [laughs]. Let’s see how this is going to play out. Tony has already won a Mirror Ball Trophy. He’s very, very serious about his dancing. He does not play around. NeNe, I don’t know whether you’re disciplined like that to be dancing because I wasn’t…He’d always be pissed at me. You practice six days a week for six hours a day–no lie. The thing about Tony is that Tony is just a nice guy…he’s not a reason to want to leap out of bed and run to practice. You know? Sometimes you get a decent partner you can tell your partner your troubles or go out for a drinky drink afterwards. He doesn’t drink. Nothing but coffee. Tony used to drink like 20 coffees when we were rehearsing. I don’t want no damn coffee! Let’s just dance. And Tony has been a dancer for years and he has a family to feed so he’s very, very serious about his dancing. He’s not fun, NeNe. I wish you well, but you all aren’t going to win. I already have the prediction of who’s going to win.”
So who will win?
She thinks Olympic gold-medal winning skater Meryl Davis and her pro partner Maxim Chmerkovskiy will win. Why? Because Williams says that Davis has dancing experience on ice, and Chmerkovskiy is hungry to win his first mirror ball trophy.
Williams also shared her thoughts on Billy Dee Williams trying to get his pasodoble on.
“All due respect…nobody wants to see old people dancing…that’s not a reason to watch.”
She has no act right. Anywho, what do you think of Williams’ predictions and thoughts on NeNe and Tony? Check out what she had to say starting at 1:38.
