It’s that time of the year! We’ve finally made it to Oscar night, and after an awards season full of magazine covers and slaying red carpet after red carpet, Lupita Nyong’o has finally made it to the most important red carpet of all. As always, she’s looking incredible.
With a blue gown on exclusively made for her by Prada, Nyong’o stepped on the red carpet with her family and best friend, Ben Kahn, and already has everyone’s eyes her thanks to her bold blue gown.
When speaking to E! News’ Ryan Seacrest, she had this to say about her unique gown: “It’s a blue that reminds me of Nairobi.” This had a very hype Kelly Clarkson calling it Nairobi blue, just for the actress. And on social media, folks are already calling her the “Belle of the ball” and fawning over her entire look (can we talk about the magic she works with her hair these days!?).
Also, earlier in the day, a man drew a very colorful photo of Lupita dressed up in a variance of bright gowns with the caption, “Good luck @lupitanyongo #theworldwantsyoutowin,” and the beauty reposted the image saying “Thank you SO MUCH @donalddrawbertson, and to all those that share this sentiment.”
So while we know Nyong’o is a already a winner in the fashion department, Donald is right! We’re all really hoping she’ll be a winner in the Best Supporting Actress Category tonight because her work in 12 Years a Slave was superb.
Fingers crossed and prayers up, folks!
