On Monday everyone went into a bit of a state of shock when People released a statement from Paula Patton announcing that she and Robin Thicke would be getting divorced after being together some 20 years. Even if the split was somewhat expected — given the suspect behavior we’ve witnessed between Robin and other women lately — what wasn’t expected was the way in which it seems Robin’s been blind-sided. Rumor has it Paula announced the separation on her own and Robin rushed back to be by her side and talk their problems out, cancelling a few concerts along the way. Well now the singer has taken to his website to make his first statement since we heard this news. In a message to his fans he wrote:
I want to thank everyone for the well wishes these last few days. My fans mean everything to me. I’m looking forward to getting back on out on the road and performing in Washington DC this Thursday, and the rest of the tour. Looking forward to seeing everyone out there!
On Tuesday Robin was supposed to perform at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort in Cherokee, N,C, but dropped out, seemingly because of his family turmoil. Harrah’s wrote on their website:
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, Robin Thicke will postpone his performance at Harrah’s Cherokee originally scheduled for Tuesday, February 25. This concert will be rescheduled and the new date announced as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience.”
As of now, it seems Robin is prepared to push through the rest of his concert tour. No word yet on what that means for any reconciliation efforts between him and Paula.
