Brigid Turner: A female filmmaker that I really admire is Ava DuVernay. I would definitely love to sit and chat with her one day. Although she went through a great many struggles, she is now paving the way for other artists in the film world.

Lately, I have felt that society has begun to highlight and value images and ideals that don’t promote development in the black community. Because of this, whenever I am given an opportunity, I strive to capture the positive side of our community.

Never let anyone tell you that you can’t achieve your goals. When pursuing your dreams, learn from your past and pay it forward by working to strengthen your community.
