Every reporter is different, so if/when you get a chance to chat with a reporter or blogger, ask them how they prefer to receive pitches. Some are okay with you sending them an emailed pitch any time of the day, some are open to social media and Facebook pitches and others like hearing more face-to-face. However, almost all reporters and bloggers say don’t call them if it’s an initial pitch. It’s easier for them to read or skim through all of the info in an email and then if they decide they need more information, they’ll most likely call you.
