Actress Tracee Ellis Ross has just been added to the cast of Anthony Anderson’s new ABC pilot, formerly titled “Black-ish,” Deadline reports.
The comedy series will center around an upper-middle-class black man played by Anthony, who is working hard to raise his “assimilated, color-blind” children with some sense of cultural identity. His attempts however, are often met by polar opposite behavior and contradictions being pushed on them by his liberal wife and “old school” father, who according to Vibe, will be played by Laurence Fishburne. Tracee will be starring alongside Anthony as his wife. Hilarity is sure to ensue, as both Tracee and Anthony are good for laughs.
The series is currently untitled and is produced by ABC studios, Laurence’s company Cinema Gypsy and Principato Young. We’re keeping our fingers crossed in hopes that ABC actually picks up the series. It sounds pretty interesting.
