MadameNoire Featured Video

Lot’s of new videos floating around from the ladies of R&B right now. Ashanti just dropped the new video for her song “I Got It,” featuring Rick Ross, and K. Michelle released the visuals for “Can’t Raise A Man.”

For Ashanti’s visuals, she comes off as a sexpot in some risque looks, including a scene where she dances around in a thong (with a fierce bob). She shows off a range of looks in the video, draped in fur, chains and big hair as she reminds a love interest that not only does she “got it” going on in the R&B game, but she’s got it going on in other areas of her life too (including her sex game?):

If your on it, like I’m on it
Then come on it, we gon’ flaunt it
I’m gonna stand on top of the globe
I don’t think you’re ready yet, boy this thing is drippin’ wet
Tell me what your tryng to do?
I can have you floating higher than what you got in that cup
I can tear that thing up, I can tear that thing up
Got you creepin up behind, as your feeling up on mine
Usually I wouldn’t give you none but f**k it, I’m on one

The song is actually kind of catchy, though it doesn’t really sound like Ashanti as much as it sounds like a regular s*xy song that could have come from any woman out right now. But I do respect her hustle and think she still looks great and she sounds good too. What do you think?

As for K. Michelle, she kept it pretty simple and straightforward with the video for her song, “Can’t Raise A Man.” So no, no thongs. She sings in a range of colorful wigs while different women in tumultuous relationships argue with their spouses who beat them, cheat on them, do drugs, and are just some trifling individuals. This is the anthem for quite a few women (as one said on Worldstar: “this song is a testimony for me”) so I’m sure those who already love the song will enjoy the video too. What do you think?
