Money Questions to Ask Your Partner Before Getting Hitched

February 5, 2011  |

4. How many children would you like to have?

Children cost way too much money for you not to have a discussion with your partner about how many you want to have. Having children cannot be a randomized activity – it must be planned. Use resources such as Planned Parenthood to help guide you through the child-planning process if necessary. However, you have to first determine with your partner what kind of life you would like your children to live, and at what cost to the both of you. Be realistic. Don’t plan to have 10 children if you have money for two. Live within your means – and mean to live well.
