Do you two want a joint account into which all of your money: investment returns, savings, pay checks, e.t.c. gets funneled? Or do you want separate accounts? Are you going to have a pre-nup? Is there one person that will pay a certain portion of the bills, or all of the bills? You need to sort your joint savings before you join hands in marriage. The best solution for most couples is to have a joint account from which mutual bills (e.g. household purchases, rent, and so on) come, and then keep independent accounts as well. Know how much your husband or wife makes, and ensure that all your financial transactions are transparent!
