Remember the Alicia Keys empowerment anthem “A Woman’s Worth?” Well, it may be time to visit your supervisor, ask for a raise and croon”Baby, you know I’m worth it.” It’s never an easy task to ask for a raise even when the economy is thriving. In these trying times, you may just be grateful to have a job and reluctant to rock the boat by asking for more money.  However, ladies, there are many times when asking for a raise is perfectly reasonable. Perhaps due to layoffs, tons of additional responsibilities have been shoveled on you without any additional compensation. Maybe you’ve been there for years, have gone the extra mile, and made the company money without reward. If you raise your concerns respectfully and back them up with evidence, it can’t hurt to ask. In fact, you may be on your way to higher compensation. Here are some tips to help you prepare to ask your employer to show you the money.
