Eight Shows to Watch for Fashion’s Sake

Sheree, Kim, Nene, Kandi, Phaedra and Cynthia have brought a whole new meaning to the term “southern hospitality” and if you pay close attention between the cattiness, side-eyes and sarcasm, the Georgia peaches also offer some interesting tastes in fashion. Being anything but demure, the ladies all manage to make a bold statement with their personal style.

To former model Cynthia Bailey, style is a sixth sense. She brings a hint of high fashion to the show and her shoulders are no strangers to designer labels. Still, the Alabama-bred beauty is quick to admit that her personal style is a mixture of high and low end pieces, “My own personal style is a mixture. I love vintage. I love nothing better than a Chanel sweater with H&M jeans and a pair of Converse and a Prada bag and call it a day.” Cynthia proves that fashion is all about how you assemble pieces and not how much they cost.

Hip-hop and R&B veteran Kandi Burruss has come a long way from the baggy pants and dark shades that her and her fellow Xscape members could be found crooning in. Her grown up RHOA style reflects a grown up urban glam complete with tribal necklaces, funky colors and sparkly berets. Through Kandi’s style, viewers around the country are learning that with the right personality you can have fun with fashion without looking like a fool.

Sheree also has a flair for fashion as former owner of Bella Azul, a posh clothing boutique in Atlanta. Since it’s closing in 2006, Sheree has focused on developing her own clothing line She By Sheree. Sheree often struts the fine line between cool and casual in looks that are easy to adapt to your own personal style. She often pairs structured blazers with jeans for a professionally polished look that is both classy and sassy. Platinum hoops and platform sandals paired with jeans and over sized tops complete a look that is as much fierce as it is carefree. The best thing about Sheree’s style? It impresses without being intimidating.

Ebony and Ivory aka Kim and Nene have a friendship that is hit or miss, very much like their choices in fashion. The pair manage to make the best impression when they opt for styles that are simple and elegant. Maxi dresses with simple accessories had women everywhere pining for summer breezes. Nene is also a great example of just how to use clothing to enhance and compliment a curvy figure.

Phaedra Parks is an intelligent, educated and independent lawyer who occasionally has a slip of the tongue that can make her appear as anything but that. Her fashion sense is “extra” much like her personality, and she can often be found in pieces that look like they had an altercation with a Bedazzler (and the Bedazzler won). Bold bright colors with a touch of obnoxiousness complete the powerhouse that is Phaedra Parks.
