From StyleBlazer

We’re interviewing a different member of BravoTv’s Blood, Sweat And Heels cast each week (catch our interview with Geneva), and this week we had the pleasure of speaking with Daisy Lewellyn, style expert and author of Never Pay Retail Again: Shop Smart, Spend Less, & Look Your Best Ever. We spoke about how she made it in the fashion industry, being fearless with your style and beauty choices, and that time she got a Brazilian wax for the first time on-air.

Check out what she had to say, and stay tuned each week for our chats with the rest of the cast!

StyleBlazer: You’re involved in so many things within the fashion industry. What was your path from Howard University to where you are now?

Daisy Lewellyn: I was doing an exchange program at FIT and I remember you were supposed to “wait” until you were a senior to intern. And I always thought why would I do that? Why can’t I just do it now? I went to FIT into their internship office and they had books and books and books of internships!  I hit the jackpot and I found an internship forHoney magazine and I was a junior [in college] at the time. They were looking for a general intern but when they saw me they were like, ‘Oh no, you need to go to the fashion department.’ I was working for Sydne Bolden who taught me so much that I know today. My point is, don’t wait until “when you’re supposed to start,” start when you have the desire.
