Wendy Williams Has On-Air Breakdown: ‘My Son Doesn’t Like Me Anymore’
Children go through many phases and unfortunately, those phases sometimes include the child favoring one parent over the other. In Wendy Williams’ son, Kevin Hunter Jr.’s case, the favored parent appears to be his father, Kevin Hunter Sr. This of course, could be fairly hurtful and difficult to cope with for the odd parent out and our girl Wendy isn’t handling it well at all.
While discussing Madonna’s son Rocco’s fondness for his mom, Wendy broke down on-air about her own suffering relationship with “little” Kev.
“Rocco is 13 years old and Rocco is a real fan of his mother,” Wendy said before making her emotional confession. “What I discovered this weekend is my son doesn’t like me anymore.”
Though her initial statement sounded a bit outlandish, she went on to offer a reasonable explanation.
“I know what it is, I know how it is. I don’t have my period,” she said before reaching for a tissue. “I discovered this a while ago, but the ball just got smacked home this weekend. You know, he’s all into his father.
“He’s a father, he’s a buddy, they talk sneakers, they go for hair cuts, they speed off in the cars and I’m just left there feeling like, ‘Why you so pissed?’ I’m not pissed, I’m a mom!'”
“You know how 13-year-olds are. I was the same way when I was 13, but it is breaking my heart.”
She also took advantage of the opportunity to emphasize the importance of fathers in the lives of their children.
“At this time, I can’t understand men who disappear from their kids’ lives. Thank God he has his buddy, and father.”
Bringing it all back to Madonna and Rocco, Wendy expressed that Madonna is “lucky” to have a 13-year-old son who “likes her.”
“Anyway, she’s lucky he likes her.”
Though Wendy can be really hard on folks at times, it’s difficult not to feel for her.
