Woody Allen’s Ex Mia Farrow And Son Respond To His Lifetime Achievement Award, Expose Further Sexual Abuse

And what makes this tragic situation even more disturbing is the fact that in the Hollywood community Allen is lauded as one of the greatest contemporary filmmakers, specifically when it comes to romantic comedies. And that may be the case. It is possible to have a sickness and a talent exist in the same person. But what does it say about our culture when we’re willing to overlook this man’s abuse of not one but at least two children all in an effort to enjoy some films? Where is the accountability? Instead of honoring him with a Lifetime Achievement award, shouldn’t someone be suggesting he seek help? Or are there different standards when you’re a white man with talent and money? Mos Def addressed all of this in his grossly underrated song “Mr. Ni**a” when he said:

“You can laugh and criticize Michael Jackson if you wanna
Woody Allen, molested and married his step-daughter
Same press kicking dirt on Michael’s name
Show Woody and Soon-Ye at the playoff game, holding hands
Sit back and just bug, think about that
Would he get that type of dap if his name was Woody Black?”

Or as commentator Crissle from the hit podcast “The Read” tweeted it:

The double standard is real. And not saying that Michael Vick should have gone unpunished. But really, since when did the abuse of dogs become more heinous than the sexual abuse of young girls? White privilege and male privilege stay winning.
