I’s Married Now: Bobbi Kristina Brown and Nick Gordon Get Hitched
After surviving a few rough patches in their relationship—including very loud protests from her family—Bobbi Kristina and her fiancé, Nick Gordon, have gone ahead and tied the knot. The 20-year-old bride made the announcement via Twitter last night by posting a photo of her hand against Nick’s—both of them noticeably rocking new wedding bands. Accompanying the photo was a tweet that read:
“#HappilyMarried SO #Inlove. If you didn’t get it the first time that is.”
The new marriage comes after their rather rocky engagement period, which was first revealed in October 2012 on short-lived Lifetime reality show “The Houstons: On Our Own.” One month later the couple split, only to come back together and get re-engaged in July 2013.
“YES, we me nick are engaged,” Bobbi K. wrote in a Facebook post.
It’s still unclear whether or not Bobbi K. and Nick got married during a traditional ceremony or if they simply went down to the courthouse, but from the looks of it, their marriage is official. We’re very curious to hear how her father, Bobby Brown, feels about her taking the big leap. Just days after she announced her second engagement to Nick, Bobby expressed during an interview that he felt a bit uneasy about his daughter’s relationship.
“It’s not a question about [whether I like him],” said Bobby. “When your daughter gets married, it’s different. That’s what it is. It’s not a question of I like him or not. When he calls me I’ll figure that [if I like him or not] out… I just want her to be happy.”
Bobbi’s grandmother, Cissy Houston, also followed up with an open letter expressing that she disapproved of her engagement to Nick.
“Krissi, all I want for you is your good health and your happiness,” Cissy wrote. “I want you to have a good life that you can be proud of. Do I want you to get married in the near future? No, I don’t. I think you’re too young and I wish you’d wait. But that’s because I’m Grandma. I’m supposed to worry about you. I’m supposed to wonder If Nick or ANY man is good enough for you, My Baby’s Baby. I’m not angry with Nick.”
But as most of us realize at this point, Bobbi Kristina is going to do what Bobbi Kristina wants to do. So we’ll simply say, congrats to the newlyweds!
Do you think the two should’ve waited a bit longer before getting married?
