Lupita Nyong’o Still Gets Emotional When Talking About Patsy & Sleeping With Scars
Lupita Nyong’o is clearly one of the breakout stars of this year’s film season, but she is still incredibly humble. What has helped her to remain that way, seemingly is the role she played in 12 Years A Slave.
Nyong’o recently visited Arise Entertainment 360 and while speaking to hosts Lola Ogunnaike and Shannon LeNier, she found herself getting quite emotional when talking about what she thought and how she felt about sleeping with the scars on her back:
“It occurred to me while I was weeping in the night that my discomfort was temporary and Patsy’s wasn’t and…it still makes me cry. I had been given this privilege to bring her back to life and it just quieted my soul and prepared me for the next day’s work.”
She added that Patsy’s spirit lives within her and the idea that she had to live in the moment for survival is still helping her get through her day to day life.
It’s really exciting and heartwarming to see a woman be so humbled by her work and excited at the same time. I’m already anxious to see what she has up her sleeve for her next role. Lupita Nyong’o is really poised to be one of the next big things in Hollywood.
