‘She Gives Everybody Their Shine:’ Beyoncé’s Background Singers Are Working On An Album

December 20, 2013  |

Beyoncé is arguably one of the greatest performers of all time, but we can’t give Blue Ivy’s mama all of the credit. It’s clear that she has a dynamic team behind her, including her über talented background singers, The Mamas. The trio recently stopped by Hot 97 to chat it up with the station’s programming-director-turned-on-air-host, Ebro Darden, where they revealed that they will be coming out with their own album soon.

“Yeah, we’re working on that,” the ladies said in response to questions about their album.

Though it seems that they haven’t revealed their plans to Bey yet, they’re all pretty confident that she will support their decision 100%.

“You know what, she would support because that’s the type of artist she is,” said Montina.

The ladies also expressed that Bey isn’t an insecure artist and that she encourages the talented people who are around her.

“That’s what I love about her,” exclaimed Chrissy. “She gives everybody their shine and she believes in us. She loves us so we love her.”

“She’s not intimidated by talent,” adds Tiffany. “In fact she likes to showcase it. Like, she know she’s confident and what she has to offer, but she’s just as proud of the team behind her.”

The Mamas also praised Bey for her stellar work ethic.

“That girl works hard,” said Montina. “Like production rehearsals are crazy. We may work 16 hours that day, but the crazy thing about Bey is, before we come in, she’s there and when we leave, she still stays.”

“And when we come in the next day, she there’s,” Tiffany added.

Considering the long hours the Bey works, it’s only natural for folks to wonder where her baby girl is during these extensive rehearsals, but The Mamas hilariously became rather tight-lipped when Ebro asked. Maybe discussing baby Blue violates some sort of confidentiality agreement.
