Man Kills Girlfriend’s Son Because He Was Crying During Football Game
According to the The Huffington Post, 22-year-old Tre’viance Markese Walker of Norman, Oklahoma killed the child of his girlfriend because the infant (between five and six months old) was doing what infants do–crying. A lot.
While the child’s mother was out running errands, the baby boy was left in the care of Walker at his aunt and uncle’s home in Norman. During this time, Walker was watching the University of Oklahoma vs. Oklahoma State football game on December 7 and while he was preoccupied with the television and the results of the game, the boy started crying.
Officials then say that an upset Walker went over to the baby and picked him up in such a rough manner and shook him that the child’s head “snapped back.” If that wasn’t enough, officials claim that a frustrated Walker gripped the back of the child’s head against his chest before “dropping him from a height of two feet” into his playpen.
Eventually, Walker’s girlfriend, his aunt and uncle would return home a few hours later, and when they realized the child was being unresponsive, they called police. When authorities arrived, the child had blood in his right ear and visible trauma to his face and head. The baby was taken to the hospital but died soon after from his injuries.
Walker lied to cops when he was initially asked about whether or not he abused the child, but would go on to admit all the horrible trauma he inflicted on him. He has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of the boy, and according to a neighbor who spoke to a Fox affiliate in Oklahoma City, all of his anger came from the fact that he was upset that he lost a $200 bet in that football game. Unfortunately, Walker took said anger out on the innocent child.
