Is Shaunie O’Neal Accusing Shaq Of Being An Absentee Father?
Further details have been revealed about the heated court battle between “Basketball Wives” Executive Producer Shaunie O’Neal and her ex-husband, Shaquille O’Neal, surrounding her new VH1 reality show, “The Shaunie Project.” In case you missed it, filming for the new show was scheduled to begin during the first week of January; however, it looks like this may be pushed back, as Shaq is fighting Shaunie in court because he doesn’t want their four children to appear on the show.
Recent court documents recovered by TMZ reveal that Shaunie is claiming that Shaq’s opposition of the show is stemmed purely from jealously. Apparently he has taken a stab at reality TV three times and none of his attempts were successful. Shaunie is also reportedly claiming that Shaq is requesting $1 million from her before he allows her to feature their children on the show; however, his legal team is claiming that this isn’t true.
Despite reportedly receiving $100,000 per month in child support, Shaunie is supposedly claiming that she needs this new show to make money because she doesn’t receive alimony. Legal papers are also painting Shaq as an absentee father, with claims that he only sees his children 8 to 10 times per year. A hearing regarding this matter will be held next month.
These two seemed to remain amiable for so long, it sucks that things have come to this.
