Morton’s Steakhouse Kicks Out Cancer Patient For Wearing Beanie Hat
We’ve heard a lot of awful stories this year, but this one is especially important because it features the World’s Most Awful Person.
For the holidays, Robert Chambers took his staff out for dinner at Morton’s Steakhouse in Nashville. The party of 14 racked up a bill of $2,000 and were closing the tab when Chambers put a hat on to keep warm. As a cancer patient undergoing chemotherapy, it’s perfectly natural and expected to get a little cold. But apparently that reasoning wasn’t enough for their waitress who insisted he take off his hat in the formal dining room.
Chambers agreed to remove his hat, but his co-workers explained his medical condition and insisted he shouldn’t have to remove it. So naturally, the waitress (if you’re not aware yet, she’s the Most Awful Person) calls in the manager who told him to bring a doctor’s note or call ahead so that he could be seated in a private dining area (2nd Most Awful Person). And if that’s not enough for you, Chambers who was probably cold and embarrassed at this point had the police called on him by the manager who felt the need to get help to remove his party.
