Obama Impersonator Promotes Obamacare In “Drop It Like It’s Hot” Spoof

December 20, 2013  |

Actor, impersonator and YouTube personality Iman Crosson (aka Alphacat), best known for his impersonations of U.S. President Barack Obama and rapper Drake, has created a unique way to help promote Obamacare — a music video of himself as Obama rapping about the Affordable Care Act to the Snoop Dogg beat from “Drop It Like It’s Hot.” The black and white clip has gone viral fast. In about a week, it has gotten 569,402 views on YouTube.

Once you get over Crosson’s uncanny resemblance to Obama and the fact he has the President’s voice and gestures down pat, you’ll get the message — to encourage people to enroll in  the Affordable Care Act.

Enrollment in the health insurance program has been picking up though there are still issues with the site. And there are others who have seen their healthcare cancelled because the policies don’t meet the new Affordable Care Act standards. It was just announced that those people will be able to sign up for once-unavailable catastrophic insurance and will not have to pay penalties if they forego insurance next year.

What do you think of the video?
