Before Oprah was a household name, she climbed the ladder to success by working part-time at the local Nashville radio station, WVOL, and from then on, interning at WLAC-TV television station. She quickly rose to success from interning and became the youngest and first black female anchor at the television station which led her to Baltimore as a co-anchor and ultimately to Chicago, where the rest became an empire over time.
