Holiday Movies That Taught Us About Finance

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

Where on earth does one begin with this film? First off, one should never rely on the assumption of money as it can and often will leave you in debt. Main character Clark Griswold invested in a pool for his home without having the funds to back it up. When news came that his company would not be giving a holiday bonus, that threw a monkey wrench into his plans to say the least.

Another financial takeaway is to rethink just how many family members you allow to stay in your home for the holidays. Forget the costs of feeding them, just think about what can happen should things get broken around your home.
