Many of you have expressed your sincere support and giddiness about four of the five original members of Danity Kane reuniting. And if I’m being honest, I didn’t quite understand it. Sure, I bopped and two stepped to a few of their songs (Go’n jingle them keys…) but I can’t say that I’ve really missed them in their six year absence. I was trying to explain this to my sister and she gave me a stank face that I just wasn’t ready for. And even though she was excited and I still didn’t really get it.
But a recent performance at the House of Blues, showed me why some of ya’ll are so ready for this. I recently watched footage from their concert and from all appearances, it looks like these women did not come out here half stepping. They performed their hits like “Show Stopper” and “Damaged” and even covered Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” before debuting their new song “All in a Day’s Work.” And I must admit that this song goes. Vocally, they sound great, like they never left or have gotten stronger over the years. Plus the song itself is hot…and also nsfw…so if you’re listening at your desk, now is the time for headphones.
Check out a cropped–but clear– video of the performance below and then take a look at them performing “Damaged” and even “Wrecking Ball” –if you want to take a risk– on the next page.
Danity Kane’s third album is set to be released next year.
