Mariah Carey And Her Negligee Appear On The Today Show For An Interesting Christmas Interview
Yesterday NBC’s TODAY Show Anchor Tamron Hall made a stop at the one and only Mariah Carey’s house. Our Butterfly diva was interviewed in her usual cream negligee and robe getup as she described her Christmas Pink Room. Instead of using the green and red colors of Christmas, fresh pink roses decorated Carey’s trees. Despite the beauty of the Pink Room — a television, plush pink pillows and Christmas trees — Carey says the use for the room is only “for things (like) archived photographs … personal items in here that are special to me. The kids don’t even know this room exists yet.”
During their interview, Tamron dug a little deeper, asking Mariah how she came “Miss Christmas” (a nickname her husband Nick Canon calls her). Carey also revealed her critically acclaimed Christmas album was prompted by her record label during the summer time. She wrote the hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You” based on the idea of not having everything she wanted as a child. Though she notes:
“Christmas and singing, even in difficult times as a kid … those moments got me through.”
Although Carey recollects, not everyone in her family felt the same way about Christmas. When showing a childhood picture of herself and Santa, Carey said:
“I think my brother punched Santa in the face when he was little. We’ve been through a lot together, Santa and I.”
