As more details emerge regarding the infamous Real Housewives of Atlanta “textgate” scandal involving the very married Apollo Nida and Kenya Moore, things aren’t looking so good for Apollo. Last week Kenya finally released images taken from the text conversation between herself and Apollo. Though we can’t say for sure whether or not Kenya deleted any of the messages prior to releasing the screenshots, we can say that the messages Apollo sent to her were out of line. His wife, Phaedra, who has been defending him from the very beginning, seems to think so too. During an appearance on Bethenny, the mommy of two discussed the scandal and she seemed pretty fed up with her husband and his “inappropriate” behavior.
“They’re just two inappropriate people acting inappropriately,” Phaedra said of the incident.
She adds that although she doesn’t mind Apollo texting other women, she feels that when her friendship with Kenya ended, he should’ve stopped communicating with her as well.
“We were friends at a point, but then when we stopped being friends, any other conversations should’ve ended.”
“I’m not saying that it’s not allowed ever, but when I’m no longer friends with someone, you should no longer be friends with them because we’re a team.”
Phaedra also confessed that although she has worked through her marital issues with Apollo regarding the messages, it was pretty difficult to relive it all once the episodes aired.
“It was very intense. As far as like me and my husband, we’re fine. Well of course [we’re reliving it]. It obviously brings back the same emotions of that day or that evening.”
“Marriage is hard. Obviously the TV show adds another dynamic. You know, you have 4 million people weighing in on the topic, but at the end of the day, you know, the marriage has to be between you and your partner. You have to make a decision as to how you’re going to handle any pressure—whether it be good or bad.”
She seems to be handling the situation well.
