Okay now you are ready to shop. First set a budget — and stick to it. There are key items to have in your wardrobe this season, says stylist and personal shopper Kim Samples, CEO of Mik Stylz, Inc. “Make sure to add a striped blazer, pencil skirt, and a nice pair of school boy frames to your wardrobe for an up-to-date look,” she says.
Also add a few pieces of new jewelry to your wardrobe. “If you generally feel good about your wardrobe but you just want to spice things up a bit, jewelry can be just the thing…With a limited budget, you won’t be able to buy a lot of jewelry or even whatever you want. With some patient searching, though, you should be able to find a piece or two that will help you say what you want to say with your clothing,” writes Wise Bread.
And don’t slack on the accessories–scarves, belts, purses. These can really change a look. “Accessories are the key to all reworked looks,” says Samples.
Don’t forget your hair. Get a professional cut but one that shows off our own style says Samples. “Always keep hair and makeup fresh… lips should always be retouched throughout the day,” she adds.
Once you get settled into your new look, don’t get complacent. Samples says it is important to re-evaluate your look. Without being trendy, keep up with the latest fashions. “Though depending on your career, it might be essential to always be up on the new fashion trends,” she notes.
Now, go work your new look!
