Man Accused Of Beating Adrian Peterson’s 2-Year-Old Son To Death Charged With Murder
While numerous women (and even a man) have come out seeking money from Adrian Peterson and attention from the media, we all know that all attention and remorse should be on Adrian Peterson’s 2-year-old son, Tyrese Robert Ruffin, who was beaten to death by his mother’s boyfriend.
According to TMZ, the boyfriend, Joseph Patterson, has been charged with second-degree murder, two counts of first degree manslaughter, a charge of felony child abuse, as well as a charge of aggravated battery of an infant. He has been charged with all these things in a court in Lincoln County, South Dakota. And the charges are in stark contrast to charges Patterson received before Ruffin passed away, which included only aggravated assault, and aggravated assault against an infant.
Patterson, who was supposed to be taking care of Ruffin while the child’s mother was out on October 9, lived with her and the young boy. On that fateful day, Patterson reportedly beat the child extensively, giving him major head injuries that he wasn’t strong enough to fight through. Ruffin passed away after two days in intensive care. His funeral, attended of course by Adrian Peterson, was last Wednesday.
According to USA Today, if found guilty of second-degree murder, that charge alone in South Dakota comes with a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of parole. Even the manslaughter charge can carry a sentence of up to life in prison. So the charges have been given, and we can only hope that justice will be served for this child, but what do you think of the charges?
