Last year, Kandi Burruss finally decided to take her former friend Kim Zolciak to court, claiming that Zolciak infringed upon her copyright by unlawfully licensing, distributing and selling the song “Tardy for the Party.”
Zolciak claimed from the jump and even filed legal documents of her own stating that because Kandi was suing her four years after the song had been released, it was obviously a publicity stunt. Kim said that all Kandi was trying to do was drum up some attention to herself so she could promote her now canceled show The Kandi Factory.
Well, according to TMZ, the judge ruled in favor of Kim Zolciak. While the full decision was not immediately disclosed, TMZ says the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star beat her former cast mate primarily due to a “technicality involving federal court jurisdiction.”
So that’s that. Kandi, who was represented by fellow RHOA star Phaedra Parks, will get what Kim Zolciak says she made off the song: nothing.
It seems like through all of this back and forth, Kandi learned not to do business with people who likely don’t have their buisness together and Kim learned not to sing again!
On that front, there’s a win for everyone!
