“When You Look Like Money, You Attract Money”: Marlo Hampton Explains Why She’s NOT A Gold Digger
During her short time on Real Housewives of Atlanta, Marlo Hampton was often put on blast and called a gold digger by Sheree Whitfield for allegedly dating older (white) men for their money. She wasn’t really open about what she did for a living that could allow her to live so lavishly, therefore, folks questioned her men and her motives. But there she was, and still is, Louboutins on her feet, Gucci on her arm, Louis on her body. And even on I Dream Of NeNe: The Wedding, Marlo is often called out by NeNe’s old friend Diana Gowin, who has said on the show that Marlo sleeps around to help supply her with the lifestyle and money she has. But in an interview with CocoaFab, the part-time reality star cleared up the rumors about her and let folks know that she’s not a gold digger. In fact, she just happens to attract money because she looks like money…
On Being Single, But Not Being Thirsty:
“Single ladies need to love themselves first. I love myself like no other. I try to be as confident as I can. Don’t get it twisted. I do have insecurities as every single woman does.
What’s meant for you is gonna come to you. I feel I have good energy. You have to live a good life and realize what goes around comes around. If you’re a good person then you will attract good energy.”
On Having High Standards:
“A man is always going to do what you allow him to do. You have to set the standards of what you’re gonna tolerate in life.
Diana says I just sleep with such and such for my lifestyle. It’s not that sweetie, I just have standards. I can do bad my my damn self. When you look like money, you attract money. Hang out at nice locations where you will attract nice things. I’m a five star chick and I’m gonna hang out at all five star.”
On The Possibility Of Opening Her Heart For A Man Who Doesn’t Have Much Money…
I’m gonna tell you this. If I find a guy and he’s broke and I really love him, I hope he has fashion sense. I’m OK with it if he has that drive to get out there and work. When I dated Charles Grant, he wasn’t loaded. I had more money than him at the time. I was taking care of him. I was really attracted to him and we related on a different level. I don’t want a broke man to sit at my house all day. I’m not gonna be taking care of a man. He better be able to at least feed me and pay for a roof over my head.”
What do you think of her advice about having high standards? Does she sound like a gold digger, or is she just keeping it real?
