Man Who Punched Store Clerk Over $1.41 Swisher Sweet Arrested; Clerk Sustains Permanent Eye Damage
We told you earlier in the week about the slime ball who walked into a Chevron station in Lakewood, Ca. recently, didn’t have enough money to pay for the $1.41 Swisher Sweet he wanted to smoke on (he only brought $1) and wound up punching the female store clerk that wouldn’t let him have it for the discount he was hoping to haggle for. The victim, who wanted to go by Yadira Lara, had this to say to reporters soon after the incident occurred:
“It just happened so fast. My reaction, I didn’t think he would hit me. And he just socks me.
Really, over 41 cents? Imagine if he got like that…imagine what else would have happened. That’s the thing that came to my head. I hope it doesn’t ever happen to anybody.”
But she can rest a little bit easier because this crazy fool has finally been arrested. According to the Daily Mail, the man, whose name is Kendrick Ruth, was arrested at a motel in Long Beach on Wednesday for robbery and assault. His arraignment is today and his bond is set for $100,000. Seeing as how he couldn’t even afford to scrape up some change for the 40 cents he owed on that Swisher Sweet he held so dearly, I have a feeling he’s not going to be able to get anything near $100,000.
As for the store clerk, according to reports, she has sustained a permanent eye injury after the sucker punch that knocked her glasses off of her face. Lara already had an eye injury that she was able to work with from an incident that occurred when she was a child. But the assault allegedly caused the childhood injury to come back. We wish the best for Lara and hope someone suckerpunches the hell out of Mr. Ruth.
