Rasheeda And Kirk Dish On The Birth Of Their Son And Working Through Marital Problems
It’s been a rough season for reality TV couple Rasheeda and Kirk Frost. Infidelity, unwanted pregnancies and the inability to see eye-to-eye are issues that can severely damage even the strongest of marriages. Thankfully, it appears that the pair were able to weather the storm. Yesterday, we told you that Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star were finally able to bring their new baby boy, Karter, home from the hospital. Today, they opened up in an interview with Hip Hop Weekly, expressing that their new bundle has brought so much joy to their family. They also shared how they plan to take things one day at time in regard to their marital problems.
Kirk on being there for baby Karter’s birth:
“Yes. I was there from the very beginning. Rasheeda woke up one morning and said, “Oh, it’s time.” She just knew. She was cramping, etc. and she said, “it’s time to go.” I wasn’t nervous. It’s just that the baby came ahead of the due date, September 6, so we weren’t totally ready. We still had to put the bed together, etc. and get organized, but now, I’m excited.”
Kirk on airing out their dirty laundry on national television:
“A lot of people try to hide things and we chose not to do it. We were 100 percent real with it and let it be what it is. I think that people have to see me as a husband and a manager and a lot of them only see the relationship side. I did say the things and they were outrageous but at the end of the day it’s in God’s hands and He knows what’s best.”
Rasheeda on working through their marital issues:
“It’s an everyday thing. It’s a work in progress. When the child comes into play, it’s a feeling you can’t explain. Although a lot of things had been shown and seen, I already knew that when it comes to be a father, this would be a role that he’s always known to play. Things were put into perspective on television that he was not a good father but he’s a great father and my older son Kai is extremely happy to have this little brother. It’s a good time for us and I don’t want anything to get on my nerves.”
It’s great to see that the two are attempting to mend the broken fences in their marriage. The road to reconciliation can sometimes be a lengthy one, but at least they’re willing to give it a shot.
