Drake Sued For More Than $76,000 By Former Stylist
Drake is being called out by his former stylist, Michael Raphael, for owing him over $76,000. According to Raphael, he had been ordered go on shopping sprees at swanky boutiques such as Diesel, Nike, and American Rag—with his own money—but Drake neglected to reimburse his stylist for the expensive bills, TMZ reports.
Raphael was hired on August 2012 at a staggering monthly rate of $39,583. Not only did his services include styling and dressing up the “No New Friends” artist, but he was also hired for branding, photography, and graphic design for Drake’s OVO company.
In addition to the clothes, Raphael claims he dropped ridiculous amounts of cash for hotel expenses, plane tickets, and pricey clothes, accessories, and shoes for the rapper — and his wages do not cover these bills. But from August to November of that year, Drake paid Raphael faithfully and fully. It’s when December rolled around that things got ugly.
Around Christmastime of last year, Drake stopped making payments leaving Raphael drowned in unpaid bills, he alleges. “Raphael even includes a bunch of receipts to show just how much he spent — one Nike receipt was for $1,162, one for Diesel was $1,483, $714 at American Rag, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg,” TMZ said.
Drake’s unpaid December bill consists of $40,000 in shopping expenses and more than $30,000 in other charges; in all, the rapper allegedly owes Raphael $76,490.
Drake has not responded to TMZ for comment.
