Bet this is a collaboration you never thought you’d see. But that doesn’t make it any less true. St. Louis rapper, Nelly has teamed up with Honey Nut Cheerios to star in one of their newest commercials. Am I the only one noticing that Cheerios is reaching out to all types of new demographics these days? First the interracial relationship commercial and now a rapper? It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day and I’m not mad, not mad at all.

Nelly has signed on for an entire campaign with Honey Nut Cheerios called “Must Be The Honey.” (Love!) He’ll also star in a series of five 30-second spots directed by Hype Williams alongside the Honey Nut Cheerios bee, Buzz.

There will be billboards, radio, digital and social media components to the campaign and Nelly will remix his 2001 hit “Ride With Me” called “Must Be the Honey (M.B.T.H.),” to push the breakfast cereal.

Here’s what Nelly had to say about his new business venture.

“I’ve worked with some very talented artists and thought—I think it’s about time I work with the Bee. I love the sweet taste of Honey Nut Cheerios and Buzz’ sweet sound on this track. When I hear it, I can’t help but smile.”

So maybe someone at Cheerios wrote that for the press packet, but who can deny that Honey Cheerios is indeed sweet and tasty?
