Frank Ocean’s Cousin Is Suing Chris Brown!
Remember that silly brawl that broke out between Chris Brown and Frank Ocean’s entourages in the parking lot of a Los Angeles recording studio back in January? Well, it appears that the guys are still having to face the consequences brought on by the showdown 8 months later. The Associated Press is reporting that a man by the name of Sha’keir Duarte filed a lawsuit against Chris Brown yesterday in relation to the brawl.
According to Duarte, who happens to be the cousin of Frank Ocean, a member from Brown’s entourage beat him so badly during the first that he is now permanently disabled. He fingers the culprit as one of Brown’s bodyguards, who goes by the name of “Hood.” To make matters worse, he’s claiming that Chris stood by watching from the sideline, cheering Hood on, saying things like, “Get that n****r!” He also claims that after the altercation, the 24-year-old “Fine China” singer told him, “You just got your A$$ beat and it’s all on camera,” TMZ reports.
Brown’s attorney, Mark Gregaros, deems the suit as frivolous.
“This is what gives lawyers and lawsuits a bad name is garbage like this,” said Gregaros, who says that he will be pushing to have the case dismissed and plans to countersue Duarte.
In a statement released to TMZ, Chris Brown’s reps also slammed the suit, claiming that Chris doesn’t even have a bodyguard named “Hood.”
“Chris Brown does not employ anyone named Hood,” the rep said.
Duarte is suing for unspecified damages, but court papers reveal that he allegedly suffered a concussion, mental anguish and humiliation as a result of the altercation. And in case you were wondering how this silly fight started, it was supposedly over a parking space.
