Tamera Mowry-Housley Gives Up The Real On Post-Baby Sex And Snapping Back

August 12, 2013  |

While we enjoy the parenthood and marriage advice that acting duo Tia and Tamera frequently dish out, what we love even more is when they share lessons they’ve learned through their own personal experiences. In the latest issue of Juicy, new mommy Tamera Mowry-Housley opened up about how motherhood has changed her for the better, doing the do after the birth of her son and readjusting her wardrobe to compliment her post-baby body. Check out some highlights below.

On how motherhood helped her to find her voice:

“When you become a mom, you’re an advocate for your family. Now I tell it like it is. This season on ‘Tia & Tamera’ I tell my sister how I feel about a huge issue. We were in talks to do an ABC Family show and she went off to do her own thing—without telling anybody. Normally I wouldn’t confront her. Luckily [Tia] likes the new Tamera.”

On what she learned from being a mom:

“I’m still learning to juggle. It taught me to be present. I’ve learned that I need to be okay with not being perfect.”

On post-baby sex:

“I’ll just say that I love my sex life. My husband makes me feel Hot. In the beginning, he looked at my body and stretch marks and said, ‘You just had our son, you’re beautiful.'”

On snapping back:

“It’s a struggle. You have to learn to say bye-bye to your old body. Stretch marks here and there. Your boobs may not be as perky. I had to learn how to dress my new self. I didn’t know that I couldn’t wear dresses that hit you in the middle. You have to wear [something] low waisted or or a belt. I’ve got my legs, love my arms, but my tummy is still what I’ve got to work on.”

On making moves:

“I’m in the process of doing another television movie and Tia and I are expanding our brand Milky!—which is doing phenomenal— to include a cream that helps moisturize and reduces the appearance of stretch marks.”
