Earlier this week, media outlets lit up with news that an aspiring rapper, who goes by the name of LIV, went public with claims that Jay Z hit on her and tried to make her his “in-town chick” during his marriage to Beyoncé. She first spoke of the allegations in her new song, “The Invasion: Part Two.”

“I could have messed with Jay, but got respect for Bey. We were on the same set of a commercial, see, I was sitting by myself, and he sat next to me. I was handling it well, and he was shocked to see, I was getting up to leave, he sent his guards to me. Excuse me Miss, do me a favor, put your number on this piece of paper. When Jay get settled and he’ll call you later. I know most chicks would have took the bait, but then those chicks be the ones I hate. I wonder to this day if I’d have gave it up would it be me on stage throwing it up!” she raps.

Following the song’s release, she spoke to HollywoodLife about the track, insisting that her purpose was not to out Jay Z, but to tell her story.

“The song about my life has been construed into something it’s not. I was not saying he cheated on her with me. I was saying I was given the opportunity to compromise myself and I took the route to not do that,” LIV said.

She went on to say that if she had the chance to speak to Beyoncé, she would apologize for any of the trouble that her song may have caused.

“I would tell Beyonce the drama is unintentional, the respect is real. If you listen to the song, you’ll understand why I came out with the story. I’m not sorry, it happened, but I’m going to express my story in my songs. I do apologize for how you feel — I love her and respect her. The reason I didn’t go there and pursue something with Jay is because of Beyonce. It’s not intentional to hurt her or embarrass her or put her business out there.”

As for Jay, LIV claims she doesn’t have any problems with him either.

“I know he’s watching and paying attention. I personally don’t have any issues with them. I’m starting an invasion movement.”
