Pass Or Play? Drake Drops Emo Dance Jam, “Hold On, We’re Going Home”

August 6, 2013  |

I guess I’m late because I’ve still been jamming to “Started From The Bottom” (what?? It’s my workout jam!), but Drake is steady rolling out single after single to help get folks ready for his Nothing Was The Same album. It is his third studio work, and will be released on September 17. After releasing the very crunk “All Me” featuring Big Sean and 2 Chainz, Drizzy has proven that he has no plans to let go of his singing aspirations with this new release. Premiered on Chicago’s WGCI, the rapper/crooner serves us an emotional diddy about good girls and trying to create something real with one in particular. Canadian singer Majid joins Drake to lay down vocals on a track that with its synths and drums, is a two-step worthy jam I’m sure Drake was hoping the ladies will make their late summer jam.

Despite his previous releases, this is reportedly the official first single from Nothing Was The Same. Question is, will it spark up enough interest to get you to want to buy the new album (or acquire it by whatever means you’re used to…)? We’ll have to wait and see, but definitely, I was grooving a bit to this one. How about you? Pass or play?
