Lupe Fiasco Doesn’t Work With Blacks But He Works With N****s?

July 29, 2013  |

Although racial tensions are at an ultimate high after the George Zimmerman acquittal, Lupe Fiasco decided to open up Pandora’s Box with some racially charged yet witty tweets. According to Vibe Magazine it all began when Lupe tweeted:

“Roscoe’s should serve a 2pc. white with beans and call it “The Wind Beneath My Wings.”

The employees at the responded to his tweet by saying:

“@LupeFiasco can we get one stand-up from you? Just one? I don’t care when you do it.. I just need a formal comedy show starring Lupe Fiasco.”

The jokes really started to roll in when Lupe replied:

“That’s like pulling a @DonaldGlover in reverse.”

It was suddenly sunny and then Fiasco brought the shade on Donald Glover who is also known as actor-turned-rapper, Childish Gambino.  The replied:

“LupeFiasco speaking of which, you guys should do something.. doesn’t have to be music either. @DonaldGlover.”

Instead of simply replying he was not interested in working with Childish Gambino, Fiasco decided to state:

“Nah, I don’t work with blacks @lupefiascostore @DonaldGlover.”

Yes we know, the crickets are loud and  of course Twitter fans had to jump on bandwagon! One fan was quick to point out:

Lupe quickly corrected the fan by saying:

“Those were n*****,Blacks and N***** come from 2 completely different parts of the chicken… @datkidsqweent @lupefiascostore @DonaldGlover.”

Childish Gambino  who usually appears as a sweet boy next door, got a little hood and shut Fiasco down  with a very explicit response:

Afterward Lupe got defensive  when he made it seem everyone took his statement too seriously. He tweeted to both Vibe Magazine and Gambino:

“Well that settles it…even wit a private twitter & obvious jokes I still somehow make headlines… #sideeyes @VibeMagazine @childishgambino.”

We all know every “joke” has a little bit of truth in it; perhaps Fiasco should stick to making political statements if he cannot handle the heat when people stop laughing. What do you think of Fiasco’s statement about not working with Black people and his use of the n-word?
