Bid For The Chance To Meet Oprah At The Premiere For ‘The Butler’
The Butler is coming to theaters next month, and you can be there, on premiere night, with Oprah if you’ve got the cash to bid on CharityBuzz.
The philanthropic fundraising site is auctioning off the chance to walk the red carpet with a publicist from The Weinstein Company at either the New York City premiere on August 5 or the Los Angeles debut August 12 of the highly-anticipated movie that stars our lady O, Forest Whitaker, Vanessa Redgrave , Terrence Howard, Lenny Kravitz, and a slew of other stars. The organization values the prize at $25,000; bidding right now is at $5,250. Bidding is happening through July 16. Besides the red carpet, you’ll also gain admittance to the after-party, which, given the guest list, sounds like it would be pretty hot.
Money raised will benefit the La Jolla Playhouse, which promotes theater work that tackles social, political, and moral issues.
ICYMI: The Butler is based on the true story of Cecil Gaines who was the head butler at the White House between 1952 and 1986, serving eight presidents.
Last month, CharityBuzz raised money for Miss a Meal, Tina Knowles’ anti-hunger charity. The winning bid worked on the Mrs. Carter World Tour for a day and enjoyed a photo op with Beyonce.
