Legendary songstress Mariah Carey is known for hitting high notes as she sashays across stages in even higher heels. But unfortunately, it appears that the soulful singer’s beloved stilettos are the very reason that she had to be rushed to New York’s Hospital for Special Surgery on Sunday night after she dislocated her shoulder. According to Page Six, the mom of two was on the set of her new music video for “#Beautiful (remix),” which was being directed by hubby Nick Cannon and featured Young Jeezy.
“Mariah was injured while filming a video for the remix of ‘#Beautiful’ directed by her husband, Nick Cannon. She was taken to the hospital late [Sunday] night. She is fine and is recovering at home,” confirmed Carey’s spokeswoman Cindi Berger.
While shooting the video at club Avenue in Chelsea, NY, sources say the singer tripped and fell in the middle of a dancing and singing routine while wearing ridiculously high heels. According to reports she was taken to the hospital in a private car and stayed overnight. Although she was painfully injured, sources say MiMi won’t allow the trip and fall to slow her stride and that she is still expected to appear at MLB’s Hurricane Sandy benefit concert this Saturday.
“Mariah will perform — but it is likely that she will have her arm in a sling,” the insider revealed.
Get well soon, MiMi!
