It’s Official! SWV To Star in New WEtv Reality Show!

July 8, 2013  |

Back in March we reported on rumors that reunited 90’s R&B girl group SWV would be starring in a WEtv reality show. Fans eagerly waited for the ladies to offer a yea or nay regarding the rumors, but up until recently, they remained mum. Coko Clemmons finally  confirmed the news via her Instagram and Twitter pages yesterday.

So far there has been no word on the official premiere date, but we do know that the network plans to debut the show, which has been titled, Sisters with Voices, early 2014. When asked if the show would follow the typical reality television format with loads of drama, backbiting and violence, CoKo assured The Jasmine Brand that the ladies of SWV are far too mature for that kind of thing.

“We’re too old for that,” CoKo responded.

The show is said to document the group’s journey and their comeback.

“The journey of SWV is the kind of real and personal comeback story our viewers love to see. These dynamic women experienced enormous success together, then it all fell apart. United again, the stakes are higher than ever, and so – at times – is the drama and tension. We can’t wait to present this fresh, new series to WE tv viewers,” said WE tv’s senior vice president of original production and development, Laura Gellert in an issued statement.

Sounds promising.
