Getting Results On Medical Matters

If you are not seeing eye to eye with your doctor or you are unhappy about the way she treated you as a patient, you should complain not only for yourself but other patients as well. Consult another doctor in the same practice about your grievance. If your doctor is affiliated with a hospital, file a complaint there.

If all fails, Real Simple, recommends contacting your state’s medical society or licensing board for instructions on how to file a complaint. The American Medical Association will also have this information available. “Once you file a formal complaint (you may have the option of filing electronically or by mail), the medical board reviews it. If the board finds a violation, it could take action against the doctor, ranging from a fine to revocation of the doctor’s license,” notes Real Simple.
