“This Is Really Ridiculous”: Chris Brown Charged With Hit-And-Run And Could Face 4 Years In Jail

June 26, 2013  |

Chris Brown can’t seem to catch a break out here. Either he’s constantly caught in some foolery or people are looking for any and every opportunity to set him up because they want to get a dollar out of the “Fine China” singer. Either way, he’s found himself in some serious trouble this time around.

After a club owner defended his name against a young woman claiming the singer assaulted her by pushing her down in the club, he couldn’t find the same help when it came to allegations that he hit a woman’s car and ran after a fender bender he was involved in last month in L.A.

According to TMZ, Brown has been charged with criminal hit-and-run after a woman claimed that he rear-ended her Mercedes and gave her false insurance info before leaving the scene. He’s also been charged for driving sans a valid license. Because Brown is still on probation from his assault case for beating Rihanna, if he’s found guilty of all these new charges, that would equate to violation of his probation, and he could face four years in prison according to TMZ. Somehow, I don’t really see him facing jail time even if he’s found guilty (though black stars are often treated a lot different than the Lindsay Lohans and Charlie Sheens of Hollywood…). And according to Brown, the driver lied on him because she’s looking for a payday. Here’s what he shared on his Twitter:

It’s not a hit and run if u get out the car, exchange information (who has NO DAMAGE to either cars). This is really ridiculous

I have a valid drivers license and I gave the woman the right info. She saw cameras and wanted to make a scene.

She contacted the cops thinking of a payday from Chris Brown when I followed the proper procedures.

My lawyers will be contacting you. I will not stand for this bullying and yellow journalism!

My profile pic is the pic I took of the persons car after “the hit and run”. NO damage. Just a dirty car.once again, I gotta clear my name

I work my A$$ off to provide for my entire family. I’ve made mistakes in the past and have worked hard to be a better person.

19-24 years of age. I don’t have all the answers and you can’t show me a person that age who has it figured out.We live and grow.Let me live

If the claims are false, hopefully Breezy will be able to clear his name and move on. But if they’re true…well, good luck with that.

What do you make of all this?
