One of the standout tracks from Mary’s comeback album, The Breakthrough, “Take Me As I Am” was a pure Mary track. It was all about being knocked down, going through a variety of struggles and eventually learning to accept one’s self as you are, so others know that’s all they’re going to get from you. Despite it sounding like something Mary put together herself, it was concocted for the legend by Keri Hilson and The Clutch writing collective. The song peaked at number three on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and number 66 on the Billboard Hot 100 list.
