Another celeb is taking the bold move of signing up for an episode of “Iyanla: Fix My Life,” let’s just hope this one is really prepared to do the work. In a news release from OWN studios, the network shared that “R&B Divas Atlanta” star Syleena Johnson will soon appear on an upcoming episode of their therapeutic series.
Season 2 of “Iyanla: Fix My Life” was scheduled to end soon, but the network ordered new episodes for the summer and Syleena will appear on the very first. According to the press release:
In the first new episode, Iyanla travels to Atlanta, Georgia to help mend the volatile relationship between R&B recording artist and reality TV star Syleena Johnson and her mother. In later episodes, Iyanla assists a family torn apart by infidelity; comes to the rescue of a couple on the verge of divorce after losing their home and business; and delves into the real story behind a mother behaving badly. The series is produced by Harpo Studios and executive produced by Jill Van Lokeren and Jon Sinclair.
Two weeks ago we got our first glimpse into the personal troubles Syleena and her family our facing. The “All Falls Down” singer’s mother recently moved in with Syleena which was causing her much stress and anxiety. Not only was Syleena worried about her mother’s behavior, she was worried about her own, fearful her mother would observe that’s she’s not being the best parent to her own children right now. This week it looks like those issues will come to ahead as we see the two try to figure out how to co-exist in the same home, but something tells me by this scheduled appearance on “Iyanla,” laying down the rules on move-in day wasn’t quite enough to rectify their tumultuous relationship. Let’s hope doing this work will be.
Syleena’s episode of “Iyanla” will air Saturday, July 20 at 9 pm. In the meantime check out video of her discussing her issues with her mom below. Do you think Iyanla Vanzant can help?
